The iconic Blackmores Sydney Running Festival takes place this weekend. RACE DIRECTOR Wayne Larden has been calling the shots for over a decade now and the event has gone from strength to strength. Major sponsor Blackmores have been on board as a big supporter for a long time now. The brand is synonymous with the event. It is amazing how many runners now say, “I am lining up in Blackmores”. It is not every day runners get to race over the Sydney Harbour Bridge and finish at the Sydney Opera House. A flatter, faster marathon course should make the finishing times over the 42.2km a little quicker than in the past. Most of you competing will be very pumped but no doubt aiming to get to bed pretty soon. Common sense must prevail. If you have not already done so, set out all your gear before hitting the sack. Double check you have everything. When you set the alarm, allow at least 30minutes more than you think you will need to be on the safe side for making the start line all warmed up and relaxed. Best of luck to all taking part, especially the numerous SWEATERS who have trained hard in their build ups. Fight with all your power!
