Event Title: Orange Colour City Running Festival, Half Marathon
Date: 27th February 2016
Placing: 19th overall, 7th in 30-39 M Category
This was the first time that Andrew raced at the Orange Running Festival. It was a well organised and social country running festival through beautiful country side. Andrew ran well but faded on the hills.
Event Title: Canberra Times Canberra Marathon
Date: 10th April 2016
Distance: 42.2 km
Placing: 60th overall, 28th in 30-39 M Category
The Canberra Marathon was Andrew’s target race for 2016. He was hoping to sneak under 3 hours and ran comfortably with the pace group for the first half of the race. Like in Orange, the hills took their toll in the second half of the race and Andrew started to drop off the pace about the 30km mark. He got going again about 34km and finished strongly. This is Andrew’s second fastest time for a marathon.
Event Title: Sydney Morning Herald Half Marathon
Date: 15th May 2016
Distance: 21.1 km
Placing: 204th overall, 80th in 30-39 M Category
Only a month after the Canberra Marathon, Andrew raced the SMH Half Marathon. He ran well over a challenging course, running alongside fellow SWEAT runner, Ruadhan King. Andrew’s time was his course PB.
