Testimonials

The success of his athletes is a reflection of the quality of training he provides. When training with Sean there are no excuses - you just have to work hard and have fun!
- Damon Harris - Australian representative, marathon

Sean has taught me everything I need to know and now I am representing Australia.
- Andrew Knox - Strategy Manager, Personal Investments

What impresses me most about Sean is his passion for running and his ability to get the best out of his athletes. The emphasis is on enjoying yourself and reaching your potential.
With Sean's help, I have recorded Personal Best times at 800m, 1500m, 3000m, 5000m, 10000m and half-marathon and set over a dozen state age-group records, and have broken the Australian 3000m 50+ record 3 times. I am now 51 but I have never been as fit or as healthy or enjoyed my running so much. Thank you Sean. I could not have done it without your advice, support and dedication.
- Keith Bateman - Director, CTC Web Design

No matter what level the athlete is currently at, Sean's methods and enthusiasm ... ensure positive results.
- Sergio Cavahlo - Market Data Services Project Manager

My quick but steady improvement has come from Sean's great training, support and advice. I find his training techniques and methods very efficient and they definitely show results.
Gary Bertwistle - Director, Blue Moon Creative

I have been training with Sean for just over 12 months and in that time have seen my times drop dramatically. Sean has an amazing sense and understanding of what it takes for each of his runners to be their best.

Testimonials from online clients

Martin Matthews: (Birmingham, England).
I'm not a natural runner and I felt that I was at my running peak when Sean first started coaching me in 2003. I had at this point completed a marathon and was running 10ks in 39 minutes. I had a lot of fun training with Sean and the group, following a training plan that Sean wrote, going to training sessions at Centennial Park, and attending some of the training camps outside Sydney. Some of my fondest memories were of the training camps, beautiful locations, well organised, a great bunch of people and the experience over a couple of days of seeing what a proper athlete must have to do week after week. It was a surprise to myself, that without seemingly to try too hard, like many in the group, my times got much better very quickly; in 12 months I was running 10ks in 34-35 minutes.

Moving to England in 2006 Sean continued to coach me on-line providing training plans, feedback and advice. I fulfilled some running ambitions and continued to improve. I’ve enjoyed running a large range of distances from 1500m (PB of 4:04), marathon (PB of 2:29) to 100km (PB of 7:04). I even got to represent my country in 2010 at the 100km World Champs. The training certainly works, as a kid I used to finish last at cross country at school.

I've been told that the art to coaching is to know your sport and know your athlete. I don't think there is anyone that is more knowledgeable about long distance running. I was also continually amazed at how he seemed to have the time to talk to all members in the squad, remember them intimately and to treat them as individuals. He seems to know more about what my body is capable of than I do myself. From seeing him in action, he has tremendous energy, great dedication, has the ability to organise and continually inspire. The great Paul Arthur was calling him the top distance coach in Australia some years ago, I'd take that further, apologies to the distance coaches in England, but I have yet to meet anyone better. It is little wonder that his athletes have produced such incredible results.

Graeme Thorpe: (Sunderland, England)
I have two people to thank for a good start to my running career which started after joining a running club in the summer of 2010. I had managed to run a few cross country races and club 5k's but struggled to get going due to picking up injuries. In December 2010 Keith Bateman got me to think about my running technique and pointed me in the direction of his coach Sean Williams.

Sean has worked with me from January 2011 providing online coaching and support. Sean is very quick to respond to my emails, and the detail of his feedback is exceptional. Over 8 months I have seen my times come down a lot e.g. 5k 20:54 to 17:52, half marathon target in January of a sub 1:35 for 2011 easily achieved with times of 1:25:05 and 1:24:52 in two races.

Sean is very enthusiastic about running and enjoys coaching athletes of all abilities and I feel I get the same service as one of his elite runners. I am looking forward to visiting Australia to attend a running camp soon and I have my sights set on achieving a lot more so looking forward to working closely with Sean to achieve my future goals. I would certainly recommend online coaching with Sean to runners of all abilities.
